The Challenge

Developing a website about Chester Carlson, the inventor of xerography, presents a multitude of challenges. The primary challenge lies in presenting his life and work in an engaging and accessible manner, considering the technical nature of his invention. Additionally, sourcing and verifying accurate historical information, images, and anecdotes to ensure the content's credibility and richness can be daunting. Balancing technical details with engaging storytelling to appeal to both laypersons and experts further complicates the task. And most importantly, the site must promote the critically acclaimed one-person show written and performed by George Shea.

Our Solution

To address these challenges, the website employs a mix of multimedia content to make Carlson's story visually appealing and easy to understand. Collaborating closely with the author of the play helped in obtaining accurate information and rare images. Incorporating user-friendly navigation and categorizing content into distinct sections—such as biography, invention details, and impact—will ensure the website caters to diverse audiences effectively, and encourge organizations and people to arrange for booking a performance.
